A Practice Built on Service

Meet the Surgeon Behind Your Comeback

Dr. Anthony Mustovich's career started in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, where he spent more than a decade, first completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center and later leading orthopedic surgery at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Alaska. He also served as a flight surgeon, gaining a unique perspective on treating injuries in an active, high-demand population. That experience continues to shape the way he practices today.

Dr. Mustovich is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also one of a handful of surgeons in western Pennsylvania certified in the Jiffy Knee™ technique, a muscle- and tendon-sparing approach to total knee replacement designed to support a faster early recovery. The technique uses the same proven knee replacement implants as traditional surgery while minimizing disruption to the muscles and tendons around the knee.

His knee replacement practice also incorporates robotic-assisted technology when appropriate to help individualize implant positioning, alignment, and soft-tissue balance. That same emphasis on minimizing unnecessary tissue disruption and supporting early recovery carries through his broader approach to joint replacement, along with multimodal pain management designed to minimize narcotic use.

Dr. Mustovich treats the full spectrum of an active life, from a high school athlete's first ACL tear to an older adult ready for a hip or knee that finally works again. To him, sports medicine and joint replacement are the same mission at different stages of life: keeping people moving.
